Canucks don't need 1 year of cap space that badly.... They have no players they need to sign this offseason. Opening up 6 mil makes no sense since we have nothing to do with it anyway. If the Canucks are trading anyone, it will be the players with term

So I agree this isn't enough to get the #11 OA. Also agree VAN isn't forced to do a whole lot, BUT that would mean that VAN should expect last season over again or worse, no? A lot of career years with VAN still pretty far off the playoffs. Wouldn't signing a Severson help? Shouldn't VAN try to get better or would you be ok with last season all over again because next summer they'll have more cap?

Hawks don't make that Pens trade. They value Dickinson way more than a 6th. He stays as 3C on your roster above. Canucks don't make the other trade. They don't get enough back in that deal for #11. And Hawks don't sign Staylock. Goalie tandem will be Mrazak and Soderblom

My bad on the Pit trade, I meant to put Entwistle not Dickinson. As for the goalie situation, don't you think Soderblom should just play in the minors? Both Mrazek and Stalock get hurt every week so he will definitely get games with the Hawks

Would replacing Myers with OEL get that deal done?

OEL is a different story. TMyers will have his signing bonus paid Sept 1st and then a team like AZ with plenty of cap will take him. OEL has 4 more years left on his deal paying him $29M (pre retention). Very different that potentially $1M. As a Hawks fan I'd probably do the OEL and VAN 1st straight up, but nothing going back at all...or I guess if Ian Mitchell is requesting a trade...we'd do it for him.

So 3 goalies in Rockford? Sody, Commesso and Stauber are all young and need to play. Not a fan of that plan. I think Sody has earned his shot. And why being back another injury prone G in Stalock? I know he played well last year but chances are at age 36 he doesn't repeat his play of last season anyway.
