As we Anaheim guys have said over and over again, Vancouver could pay Myers his $5 million signing bonus this summer, after which Myers becomes a $1 million bottom-pairing RhD, and then package him with a 2024 third to Anaheim or Arizona or Chicago for a 2024 sixth. Presto! Six million in cap disappeared for the cost of a measly future third. Where else are you gonna see a magic trick like that?

Canucks decline. They can pay Myers signing bonus and then dump him on a cap floor team like Anaheim for a 3rd/4th.

what do fans on a site have to do with reality? Any team would know that they are saving van 6m in cap regardless of real money. They would then ask to be compensated accordingly.

I could say the exact same thing of you saying it would cost a 1st to dump Myers. While Myers hasn't lived up to his contract, he's still 6'8". GM's have a thing for paying a lot more that they should for big guys just because of their size (see Chiarot). Myers 50% retained at the deadline will easily get a mid round pick in return. If teams really want a 1st to take on Myers, Vancouver will be more than happy to just hold on to him for another year and trade him at the deadline 50% retained for a pick.

Did you watch any game this year. Barron looked insane. Xhekaj is a top enforcer in the league. Mesas is 18, give him time. Allen could easily get a fourth. We don’t need a rhd if we have Barron. Or we could trade for Durzi, who is way better than Severson
