Open the sample size up to more than just the playoffs.

It’s also interesting that the Canes were able to make it to the ECF while having the worst defensive pairing in hockey playing a TON of mins against the other teams best forward lines.

And got swept in the ECF, so maybe not that interesting. Combine lack of offensive production (career) with very very poor defensive results (15 games in playoffs) does not scream stud dman to me. He’s a serviceable 2nd pairing guy, certainly not worth $6M and Nylander is still the best player in that trade (by a fair margin) so no way the leafs do it.

Necas + Skjei for Nylander should work for you then?

If you don’t like Pesce because he doesn’t score - Skjei was top 5 goal scoring D man in the league and has one of the better 5v5 scoring rates across all defenseman over the last two years.

Leafs already have Reilly (better offensive dman than Skjei); we really need a RHD to play with Reilly. Pesce is overrrated and pending UFA as is Skjei so no real interest in either, especially if the price is Nylander who is much more valuable than either

Yes we did get swept, and the Leafs almost got swept as well. Canes issues were not defensive (Goal per game 2.5 against Panthers) so I’m not clear on the points being made. Canes could have swept the Panthers if Bob didn’t have a .970 SV%. Bob had like a .940 SV% against the leafs too.

My points were made clearly - Pesce is OK, but not great. Did you seriously just go there - you can hang that on your banner next year - Bob was 0.970 vs us but only 0.940 vs Leafs 😂.
I think we’re in the same boat - both teams want to add missing piece but not if the price is too steep (losing current roster pieces). For that reason, I just don’t see a fit here - no one on the Canes roster interests me other than Aho or Slavin, and can’t see them being moved. Why you (or tbf - maybe it is others?) think Leafs would trade Willy or Mitch for anything less 🤷🏻…it’s that time in the nhl season when crazy becomes normal

You can enjoy being on the ignore list. I brought up Bob’s save percentage against the leafs to demonstrate that the Leafs could have faired better against the Panthers too. You bring up Canes getting swept, it’s fair game to talk about the Leafs almost getting swept as well. The emojis make you look childish.
