What's with all of the Mazur trades?
Answer is no, though. If we want him we can sign him in UFA next year.

It’s similar to the leddy trade you guys did a few years back, if things don’t work out, you dump him at the deadline and recoup your picks. Classic Stevey y

I think you'd be better off trading for Provorov than Laughton

This team is worse than the Kings were pre-trade deadline.

Would rather have Dumolin than Leddy.

No need for Laughton, Lizotte and Kupari are good bottom-6 centers and got better as the season went on.

Why is Detroit buying a 1-year rental?

Arvidsson is going to be a 31 y/o UFA. He maybe gets a good return from a team that needs a LD and is competing (cannot think of any, though). He certainly does not fetch that from Detroit.

We could take cap back, like Walker or Roy

Did you watch any of Pittsburghs defense this year? Dumolin was atrociously bad. Will be lucky if he fetches a multi year deal anywhere.

I agree to an extent. I don’t believe the walker cap hit is enough for la to consider and it seems that Roy is here for the long haul in la unless it’s a massive return from somewhere.

But not at that cost. It's more than the Kings paid for him 2 years ago. Take Mazur out and maybe. Probably rather not trade a pick this year for him. McIsaac and a third world probably all we pay. I do like him and would maybe do a future second for him.

What do you think is a fair return from Detroit? I would imagine he can get at least a 2nd and a 3rd or top 10 prospect from a team. I think Detroit starts to turn up there shot at being competitive and this is a smart way on an expiring contract to do so and if it does not work out by mid season they can recoup picks from contenders.

Oh I know but that's why he'll sign a near-nothing contract to be a #3 defensemen. Leddy is old and a defensive liability him and Clarke will allow everything in.

I'd go for Graves if we can't get Gavrikov.

That’s fair, at the end of the day we aren’t in the front offices making these deals and can only go off of history and I feel that somewhere in the neighborhood of a 2nd and a b or c prospect is fair for someone with his production. I love having hockey conversations with people like you. Makes it all the more fun ! 👍

Oh yes sir I agree, Graves is the crown jewel of this free agency defensive class, unfortunately I feel like he is gonna get priced out of LA’s range.

I don't think any return would be smart from Detroit's end.
He'll have 1 year on his contract. We're in no position to pay a rental price for a middle-6 winger.

That would be a 2nd only, not mazur involved wings absolutely aren't trading mazur

Leddy is old but he’s got good experience and did a wonderful job as Seiders D partner in Detroit. I feel he would be an amazing comp to get in adding Clarkes development. Someone who is steady and smart and comes at an affordable cost. Because let’s be realistic anything over 5m Aav for Gavrikov is ludicrous

Mazur is one of those guys in the Wings prospect pool that really excites us. Grinds like a madman and has solid skill. He isn't untradable or anything, but he isn't going anywhere for a player of Arvidsson's tier

Can't have Durzi in LD2 role again. I'd rather have De Haan there, literally anyone with some defensive game. Let Durzi be a power play specialist with sheltered minutes.
