Would it be an elimination game without some goal drama?

Pucks with embedded tracking technology would have solved this but NHL pussied out 2 years ago.

That disallowed goal demonstrates two things:

- How dumb the NHL rules are. They need to be overhauled for clarity.
- Goal line technology is a must

I get its playoffs but FLA basically getting away with intent to injure numerous times is just getting to the point of stupidity

Like whats that elbow to the head of Marner with the puck not even close to the play lul.

Brodie WHY

Can't believe that they can say a puck shot two feet from the boards could clear the clear the imaginary 8 foot glass.
I'm trying to speak objectively though I am a Leaf fan......the Leafs have really been CHEATED by the refs and league in the last 8 years or so in the playoffs. How can Kadri and Bunting be suspended when seems like the other 15 teams in the playoffs can do the same infractions and not even get a penalty?.

This stings hard but this was a fun forum to have. Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

God knows what’s next but I will still bleed Blue and White.

Hate to point it out, but ROR and Lilly tripped each other on the failed Leaf 3 on 2 - that gave Florida the 3 on 2 the other way.

I could blame Acciari as well. After the 3 on 2 sort of fell apart, he took a bad angle shot that trapped all 3 of them.

Well, we are at the first real crossroad we have faced in the Matthews era Maple Leafs. For once, it finally appears as if change will truly be coming. Whether or not that change is for the better is yet to be seen, but there will almost certainly be major change in some form. I doubt it's in regards to the core four. It's either going to be a huge managerial shake up, or a huge roster shake up in the form of depth.

Will Dubas be back? What happens to Keefe? What rash decisions are made? There are so many question marks that arise from this loss. I know it gets said every year that the Leafs are going to have a "tricky offseason", but that rhetoric is genuinely true this year. Given the question marks surrounding Dubas and the many UFAs we have as we approach the last year on Matthews' contract, many decisions will have to be made. Personally, I am hoping for a retooling behind the bench. Establishing a new identity and mindset is going to be key. When this team is on their game, they absolutely destroy. The issue is, the Leafs don't always play at their best. That needs to change. There is almost some peace in this loss. The knowing that in some way, shape, or form, next season will be different. We won't be slightly tweaking this team and hoping for a different outcome. Whether or not that change will be good is yet to be seen, but there is some solace in the thought. Maybe next year will be different. Despite the loss, I am at peace for once.

And for what it's worth, tonight marks what was likely Justin Holl's and Alex Kerfoot's last games as Toronto Maple Leafs. These guys have been relied upon massively on this team over the last few years, and knowing that they will suit up in a different jersey next year is atleast something to look forward to. But for now, all we can do is wait.

Let's go Leafs
