A random algorithm program done live would help prevent potential shenanigans but knowing Bettman and NHL wont do that.

As to how it would work as a computer programmer. But all I know is it works

I know a lot of the people saying the lottery was rigged are joking, but I'm still going to point out that Kevin Weekes announcing Columbus was at #3 before Bill Daly announced it doesn't have anything to do with the ping pong balls.

So why didn’t the Hawks have to forfeit any picks for literally covering up SA?

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. Maybe they told ESPN early so they could prepare content and they made a mistake and released it early?

I think Daly’s part was taped…and Weekes was just introducing each clip of him turning the cards.

(And they have one of the top accounting firms audit the lottery…and all teams have a rep present when it’s conducted. it’s pretty safe from rigging).

But Arizona has to forfeit a 1st and a 2nd because they asked some kids to do some training a little bit before they should’ve.

Yet Chicago covered rape allegations and they’re rewarded with a generational talent.

This league is a joke, between this and the entirety of the Arizona saga, how is Bettman still employed?

Tbf does it even matter? For all we know Bedard might just get run over by a car the day after he gets drafted.

They still got the most touted asset of the draft class when it mattered...what happened afterwards is something the "lottery" winning didn't impact.

Disappointed with Bedard going to Chicago. Feels like rewarding incompetence. Only worse destination would be Arizona.
I know that's the general idea behind the draft lottery, but it's supposed to be about on-ice performance, not a salve for cultural and managerial missteps.
What better way to compensate for poor decisions and reputation than to grab the next phenom to paper over it and bring a positive spin to a spiraling franchise?

I hate the Bedard to CHI because after the Beach scandal, they don't deserve nice things (the organization doesn't, I have nothing against the fans). Hopefully they draft Fantilli at 1
