Cup-Ready Roster Already (EDM Trade... Opinion?)

Created by: We_Want_The_Cup
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2017
Published: Jun. 16, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
We already have scoring on all four lines and sufficiently good D and G.

Our 21 man team will have a cap space of 5.96M (I added some extra players, so ignore the cap figure below). With Plek's expiring contract next season, there's enough room for Price extension.

PROTECTED LIST
1) Pacioretty
2) Drouin
3) Gallagher
4) Galchenyuk
5) Hudon
6) Danault
7) Shaw or Byron
8) Weber
9) Petry
10) Beaulieu
11) Price

EXPOSED LIST (only significant ones):
1) Shaw or Byron
2) Benn
3) Davidson
4) Reinhart
5) de la Rose

VGK Prediction:
Shaw or Byron, because there is a plethora of decent defensemen available, so VGK will likely pounce on decent offense. I personally would rather expose Shaw because of his cap hit, though otherwise prefer giving Byron.

Fucale has no value right now. Oilers would be better off losing Reinhart for nothing as opposed to moving him for a not so great goaltending prospect + a terrible contract.

Are you fu**ing kidding me? "shaw or byron"
This is no question byron was second in goals last year and shaw just got overpayed and took penalties.
Byron is essential to the roster.

Habs management seems to prefer protecting Shaw, but we'll see. I just put what was most likely going to happen there. As I said, I would protect Byron and expose Shaw. However, Byron might be a one-hit wonder. I expect him to remain near 12-15 goals for most of his career, and not rise much higher. We'll see.

Hmm, okay. I saw many armchair GM trades involving Emelin, so I figured there might be an interest for him as a stay-at-home physical presence on the blue line. He had a career year this season, but of course is still not worth his contract. Would you consider it if I swapped Lindgren for Fucale? Just checking.

If you left Radulov unprotected, he most certainly would be taken by Vegas. Or at the very least I would take him if I was Vegas.

It's seeming unlikely that the contract will be signed before expansion date. Essentially, it seems to be that he will sign after (if a deal is found). Obviously, there is still a chance that he walks away to another NHL team. Regardless, there's no point wasting a spot as of right now unless he surprises us all and signs within 24hrs.

From an edmonton fan, hell no to that trade. Oilers need to shed cap space, not gain more bad contracts.
