Seems reasonable. Provided the leafs make the cup finals. Probably a few differences in the bottom 6. O’Reilly is the wildcard for me. My head says a contract such as what you’ve laid out. However my gut tells me he does a Gio contract (not quite that bargain but something extremely team friendly).
If the leafs don’t make the cup finals…. Which is crazy I know… Dubas and Keefe are gone. And a re-tool starts. Likely Matthews and Nylander out the door for assets that allow a quick re-tool.

Can you? Who's going to play 1LW for the same price? Bunting isn't quite Zach Hyman but he has the style and skill and, so far, production we need up there and I think $5m is a fair price although I'd prefer to see it on a 3yr deal. Maybe, on a 5yr deal, we can get the AAV down a little

This looks pretty reasonable. I don't see the leafs making the buy out due to the 2m in 24/25. The one I've been tinkering with has bunting 8x4m and ROR at 3 x 4m. I also re signed Acciari. Didn't do anything about the goaltending. I'm still undecided.

Knies for cheaper and get the same skill. Keep the 5M to give to Nylander or Mathews

The guy who hasn't played a minute yet in the NHL is who we're pinning our hopes of being a top line winger immediately?

Not saying it's impossible but it's improbable unless he plays the last 5-10 games with the leafs + playoffs and looks like a rock star

I would be very hesitant signing a 28 year old Bunting to an 8 year deal just to keep a low aav, unless that started with a 3

Because Bunting has so much more experience He been playing on a Top line and has 18 goals Knies cant do any worse

Sure he can. He can

a) not even crack the team out of training camp
b) get sheltered bottom 6 minutes as a rookie
c) refuse to sign with the leafs and hold out to go UFA

To say that Bunting's ceiling is Knies' floor is illogical
