Maybe many on CF are too young to remember Bobby Hull as a player. Not only a great player, but had such charisma, a great spokesman for the league.
His signing by the WHA Jets gave the new league credibility.

A couple of stories about Hull.
In the 1980s, Hull apparently had financial problems, A fellow I worked with , (Hull's age) and a multi millionaire gave Hull a large amount of money....no questions asked. He did not know Hull but had admired him from a distance.

In the 1984, why wife and I were travelled east of Toronto along Hwy 401. 10 miles past Belleville, I took a road south. My wife asked "Where we were going. "Point Ann" I said. So we travelled 6 miles to a semi deserted hamlet if Point Anne. Then I told her this was Bobby Hull's hometown and I had to see it.
