This is the kind of thing we have to at least attempt to do. The best case scenario is he figures it out with more consistent icetime and becomes a decent 3rd liner or even second liner for the next 5 years, with the possibility hes worth a 3rd round pick next deadline. The worst case scenario is hes bad and we eat an almost entirely buriable contract for next season or buy him out for extremely cheap. This team is one of the worst offenses in the league and I think this move is low risk potentially decent reward with the added benefit it should make the team slightly more watchable while likely not moving the needle enough to change the tank plan.
