Buffalo moves up in the draft while adding an elite offensive RHD.
EDM
  1. Murray, Brett
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Edmonton sheds salary while adding a big body to the offensive corp.
2.
BUF
  1. Engvall, Pierre
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:

The Leafs add a proven goal maker.
TOR
  1. Bjork, Anders ($800,000 retained)
  2. Olofsson, Victor
Additional Details:
I really hate trading Olofsson, but with Krebs, Peterka, Quinn, Asplund, Girgensons, Buffalo could afford to trade him and make room for the young guns.
Engvall will add PK skills and physical capabilities to the Sabre line up.

I added Holl and Bjork to the original trade, to help the Sabres RHD and to balance the Leaf's salary cap.
Buffalo could retain $1,300,000 on Olofsson if needed to completely balance the cap..

Leafs easily decline, Olofsson and Bjork doesn't get you a first round pick. Easy pass from the Leafs

Edmonton isn't using their first to dump barrie.
Think the leafs would be looking for a bigger name than olofsson if they're giving up a first and third.

Can't imagine anyone paying a 1st to move Barrie, or to get Olofsson.

What's wrong with you today? If Ben Chiarot gets a first round pick, a goal scoring winger with term does. Troll

He'd lead the Blues in goals by 3 and he has term. Sorry boyo but if no one moves a first for Olofsson then you've got no hope in a first rounder for O'Reilly or Tarasenko

Leafs have no need for Olofsson and we're not giving a first to a rival

Sorry, guys, I disagree. It's not "a first for Olofsson"; it's a first for Olofsson AND getting both Engvall and Holl off the books, even if it's only for the remainder of this season. I'm with @stephane_robidas here.

Neither of those players are pure cap dumps.

Kerfoot and Engvall aren't amazing but by no means are they cap dumps. Also the Leafs don't have cap issues with Muzzin off the books (LTIR). We have at least $5.5M in cap space to spend
