    This is a mess.

Let me start with the worst part about this: Shattenkirk will not come to Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh does not want/need him. He is going to a New York team to be closer to home and he will get more than 6 mil there.

The Calgary trade is awful for the Pens. I can't even begin to describe...

LV is not going to take Hags. I'm not sure where everyone gets the idea that LV is going to take all the high salary players off of each of the 30 other teams hands, but they are getting a fresh start and do not need high priced role players like him. I expect Rust to be taken for this very reason.

Schultz will get closer to 5 mil, if not more. He may take less to play in a great situation he fits in, but he just as well may not.

Dumo will be closer to 4 mil.

The Sheary number is pretty close to what he should get.

I think Jarry will start in WBS, so the Pens will be looking for an affordable vet backup.

Last, Kunitz is another good signing. I doubt he will want to uproot his family at this point in his career, so I see them finding common ground on an affordable 1 year deal.

I agree with almost everything you said. Except about Rust being drafted to Vegas. Rust increased his value to the team even more in this playoffs. So, it's more plausible to protect him and let Hornqvist unprotected. Maybe Pens can make a trade with Vegas and they can draft another player but Hornqvist and Pens give them two picks. One for 2017 and another for 2018. This is what I'd do and I think Pens will do either. Lose a player like Rust would be a dumb mistake. He's a great fit to Pens scheme and shows to everyone that he's a clutch player, specially in postseason.
