Description
I like adding Duchene. He brings speed and a high skill level. He also adds the ability to win draws.
Signing Polak gives McDonagh a stay at home defenseman who plays a tough, physical game.
It was a lot to give up to get Vegas to take Staal, but it is what it is.
The trade with Calgary allows the Rangers to get something for Raanta that is a little different than what others have suggested. I like the idea of trading up and trying to get a better prospect.

Rangers already have a badly ranked farm system, giving up the 2 best F prospects, one of the better D prospects as well wouldn't be too wise...

Didn't know the rangers had prospects. Haven't they been signing undrafted free agents for years since they don't draft anymore?

Wouldn't bring in Polak at any price tag. Rather have Franson who won't cost more than the $3.5m you allocated for Polak.

People throw out "prospects" like they have all have meaning. "NHL prospects" have meaning. Not sure if that group have "NHL trade value". Does Staal still waive his NMC?

Gropp just had 84 points this past season in the OHL, and 70 last season. He is only 20 years old. He has NHL trade value and really should be the candidate to replace Fast if taken in expansion.
