I don't get why Carolina would give away the 12th overall pick for the right to pay Eberle $12 million dollars over the next 2 seasons?

I'm assuming the 1st is supposed to be a 2017, not 2018 but this format won't let us select 2017 picks for some reason. If that's the case, the Wild could get a much higher 1st round pick for Dumba. You're on the right track but this particular deal is a no. Dumba is a former top 10 pick and still very young and already has a lot of experience. Gonna take a top prospect or top 7-8 pick in this years draft to pry him, or else Wild will trade Brodin.

Bonino is not coming that cheep. Pitt would resign him if it only cost that much. You are looking at more around 4mil for him. All be it an overpayment but someone will pay out that much especially in a weak center UFA year.

That's true kinda funny yet good to finally see oilers not picking in top 10 you know what scratch that lmao top 5 but it was a good thought Jones is a solid prospect and very much like his brother

Because they get rid of a goalie they don't need and eberle still puts 20 goals up this year even on his worst year yes he's overpaid but let's not act like he isn't a very good hockey player

A mid 1st this year isn't worth as much as previous years. There are good players still, but the chance of picking the bust is higher.

The only player that I think gets the Wild talking is Puljujarvi. McDavid and Draisaitl are untouchable; RNH and Ebs are too expensive and not needed; Larsson and Klefbom don't do anything for the Wild; and the rest are just more of what the Wild already have.

It's one year at $3.3 mil. Lack is one year at $2.75. Worst case, you buy one of them out. When you're a tight budget team, you don't give up the future value and team control of the 12th overall pick to pick up a bad contract on a 20 goal scorer. I'm aware that Eberle has value, but you're probably not getting a 1st rounder for him.

If there was some retention on Eb's cap hit, he could easily get a 1st from some team. It all depends on how much is retained, or a cap dump was taken back along with the pick.
