No way Toronto would make that Vancouver deal. Canucks would gladly accept though.

Not at all cap compliant for the Leafs is it with Murray and Muzzin returning.
Wouldn't trade the cost efficient Sandin for Chychrun one for one. Chychrun isn't worth that much to any team, especially one that has LHDs like the Leafs.
Leafs might need Kerfoot at centre, bit winger Garland. Quite a premium to pay for 60 point Garland. Leaf just keep the cap available along with Villlenue and the picks

The only reason I’d be hesitant from a Canucks perspective is because the 1st rounder is in 2025, I’d want a 2023 or at least 2024 instead

True. Still a much better return than you could expect for garland IMO.

A first in 2025 has little value. Garland was one of the top 5v5 point producers in the league last season. If there aren't good offers, we don't have any reason to trade him

2025 has little value now but Canucks would be thanking themself in a couple years.

I get all the garland 5on5 stuff. But winger value is low and he gets paid 5mil to be a middle winger that doesn't kill penalties and is limited on the PP. I don't think he carries very much value and I also think the Canucks should move on from him and clear that capspace even if a return is seemingly underwhelming.

Bjorkstrand is the closest recent comparable and he went for a 3rd and 4th.

If we are going to go the Bjorkstrand route, we might as well just fold the franchise. The Jackets sold so low on them because they HAD to. They needed to make cap space for Gaudreau. We are perfectly fine with Garland on our team. He has arguably the best contract on the Canucks right now. Selling low on him will is a poor idea and I almost guarantee that we will regret doing it. We have many other players that should be traded before selling low on Garland for cap space
