So much wrong here. 3 buyout are max, you have 5.
-Koivu has a Selke quality season, so buy him out. Nobody on the roster replaces him.
-Parise. If you had a kid today, that kid could legally be driving before Parise's dead money came off the books. There will be a future cap hits of $3.4m $7.4m, $8.4mx2, and $1.875mx8 in dead money.
-Stewart. Dead money for 2 years ($400k and $300k), when you could just take a $200k cap hit for one year by sending him to the AHL. Then you sign worse players to replace him?

In what world does Keumper get $3m from a team that doesn't even want him anymore? He was garbage last season.

1. Praise will not be bought out for a long time if ever. If they bought him out today they would have a ~$2 million cap penalty until 2033 and in 2023 and 2024 the cap hit would be $8,413,000 because idk buyouts are weird and dangerous but its more than his current cap hit.
2. Why re-sign Kuemper? He had and awful season and has played his way out of the NHL.
3. Nino and Granny or bother underpaid I see them having a cap hit closer to 6+
4. Why would you every buy out Mikko Koivu he may be a little overpaid but he is one of the best 2-way centers in the league. Why would u buy him out he only has next year on his contract.
5. On defense the Wild sign Folin and Prosser to under a mill and Prosser to league minimum to fill in the 6 spot.
6 . Vegas Pick
7.Wild don't need to sign FA depth they have plenty in Graovac, Haula, Schroeder.
8. DON'T buy out Stewart. Overpaid? maybe? not to me and why take a $400,000 cap hit to sign another depth guy who isnt going to play better than stewart?
9. You bank on Kunin playing a top-6 role and he has never even seen NHL action or AHL action. I think Tuch will make the roster next year but this year he had 0 pts and was -3 in six games, you can't bank on him playing a role next year although I think he can.

Moving contracts is fine. But you spent $8.7m on a bottom line and a backup goalie. Keep Koivu+Stewie+Graovac+Staylock+ $1m (or ELC from Iowa) and you spend $10.15m. That $1m cheaper than the guys you signed+ Koivu's buyout. Now you have a solid top-6, a decent bottom line, and the same quality backup goalie. Lose Scandella/Brodin to Vegas and open up $4m in space. Trade Pommer and retain half his salary, it's still cheaper than buying him out. Trade a Granlund or Nino for a nice return and free up salary that way.

Buyout is really the last option that should be taken for any player, they hurt in the long run. $2.5m for Cooke and Vanek last season, 2.5m next year for Vanek in dead cap, would have made a big difference in how the WIld built the team. The Cooke dead money could have been used to sign Matt Cullen as the 4C, he was interested in signing here last offseason.

The team you made will be uncompetitive in the Central. The 3rd line has a combined 20? NHL games, + Kunin on the 2nd line with 0 experiance. Granlund is a lowend 2C at best. The Wild would have to turn into a complete trap team and hope for a bunch of 1-0, 2-1 games to have a prayer.

I think the Wild Could package Scandella and Pomminvile to ARZ for a 4th rounder clears up 9.6 mill in cap and as good as Scandella is we don't need to spend $4 million on a buy who will only get bottom pairing minutes and the wild can have Gustav olafson and Mike Reilly split games in that spot.

Scandella should be worth at least an early 2nd alone. Retain half (much cheaper than a buyout) of Pommer and he'd be worth a late 2nd (after July 1st), $2.8mx2 for a vet presence that'll give you at least 35p for each of the next two years.
