Detroit declines.

Sundqvist is worth more to Detroit than an AHL player and a 4th. What's being offered wouldn't get you the retention without Sunny,

JE isn't returning a 1st. There are much better Dmen UFAs next year like Zub, Klingberg, Mayfield, etc who will be in more demand.

Except Sundqvist looked really good as a bottom 6 player. Like, almost Holmstrom like "bottom 6" that plays with such a game he fits with top 6 too. Don't be shocked if he pops off 20-25 goals. Not over evaluating him...need a bigger sample size with the new coach. He might be worth a lot more.

JE is a great target for the avs looking to repeat with minute eating, low salary, and playoff style. Only makes sense if the Avs flip Girard (seperate trade) and theres no retention, its already a low salary and Habs could easily find a trade that doesnt retain for 2 years. Theres really no point in arguing values on here, but getting JE for 2 playoff runs probably cost more than a first too.

Should add i think the Avs/Habs trade is a good fit and idea. I dont like to argue prices, so i applaud the idea here.
