You're ownership and I'm MAF. Pitch me on why I need to waive my NMC so I can get selected by an expansion team.....GO!!

If I was MAF I wouldn't waive but i'm going to play devil's advocate.
    1. You have the chance to be a uncontested #1 starter in a new exciting market.
    2. You could be the face of the franchise.
    3. If Matt Murray continues to progress MAF will begin to see less and less time in pittsburg.
    4. Not sure how important a big contract is compared to winning cups but he will get PAID upwards of 6-7mill for 6 years if he plays well in Vegas.

If I were the Pens I would pass on Kovalchuk and add depth... look at how that's paid off this season.

If MAF doesn't waive his NMC Pittsburgh will have to trade Murray or loose him to Vegas. Either way MAF is the starter in Pittsburgh. Why would he want to waive?

Nope. He'll get traded to a team not in his NTC, or bought out at that point. Flower knows he isn't playing with the Pens next year, it's a matter of what terms he wants it to be on.

He can essentially block half the teams in the NHL with his modified NTC. If he wants to stay in PIT, it wouldn't be hard for his management group to pick out the teams they know wouldn't/couldn't trade for MAF. To buy him out would cost them $2 million in dead cap for the next 4 years.
