Setting up to pay Connor

Created by: Timmah

Description
Top 4 d locked up with great value and term.
Keep Leon and mcdavid together for another season by signing Thornton big money short term. Thornton also provides the additional depth to provide puljuvari a top 6 centre without being in a top 6 role best oppritunity to develop. Jagr brings a different touch than ebs in that spot wouldn't consider it an upgrade but since his return to NHL it's impossible not to notice the impact he has had on less experienced players. Conditioning and dedication goes to another level.

Love the trade for both teams! Tavares gets a good winger and we get a good defensive defenseman.

I'd put Jagr and Lucic with McDavid since those two are his dream linemates plus it would balance the lines...

Don't think NYI ponies up a second. Eberle has so much negative associated with him ( Salary vs production ) Edmonton probably has to toss in a d prospect too. Bear??

I'm not opposed to this trade as an Islanders fan. But I'd prefer say RNH and a 2nd for Hamonic. EDM can keep their 1st. I do expect Hamonic to be traded prior to expansion

If Edmonton throws in Bear we want Tavares in return. And what do you mean Salary vs Production? He averages 55 points per season and has never gotten less than 20 goals. There are other 6M players out there (Backes, Eriksson, etc) who dont have that type of production.

I don't like it for NYI. The team had the 10th best offense in the NHL and the 8th worst defense. We shouldn't be looking to trade our 2nd best defenseman for a winger, unless that winger is really ******* good. There's no point in trading Hamonic right now just because he had a bad season where he was battling injuries. You sould also remember that this season our defense was terrible and it was pretty obvious that Hamonic being injured left a big hole. Before someone talks about the expansion draft and how we need to trade him, most of our forwards could be replaced with guys currently in our system, there's just Lee and Tavares which we have no replacement for.

I was going to suggest nuge for Faulk since Carolina lacks a true top 6 centre but has plenty of youthful d. I went with hamonic for ebs offer because I think with a steady solid defensive partner sekera can break out similar to what we seen of klefboom with larsson.
