We're so screwed for next year lol. I've made some rough draft mocks for next year and the FA market for centers is not strong. Unless a miracle happens and McKinnon wants to sign in Boston. One guy that comes to mind for me is Dubois, gonna have to be a trade or an offer sheet though. Personally I think the Bruins just need to bite the bullet and move Pasta. He's realistically their only option of getting a top tier level center to Boston. But I know Sweeney is gonna to prioritize extending Pasta and we're gonna have a merry go round of young centers trying to establish themselves. I cant wait for the dark ages after this year so Sweeney and Neely can get the boot.

It would’ve made a ton of sense to commit to the rebuild this year and move Marchand and Pastrnak for good returns and get one of Fantilli, Yaeger, Carlsson etc.

Issue about moving those guys this year are the no movement clauses in their contracts and the current cap situation 85-90% of the league is facing right now. Both players essentially have full control cuz of the state of the cap across the league. They can just look at a list and say okay they cant trade me to (insert # of teams on their lists) because those teams cant fit my cap hit and then they'll just list the teams that can take their cap as the teams on their no trade lists. I also dont think Marchy will ever get moved. And with the price tag of any type of Pasta trade being set in the DeBrincat move I think scared Don Sweeney. He won't make a trade unless it makes him look like a slam dunk winner IMO. He won't give up a "highly valuable" prospect; I'm pretty sure when OTT had Mark Stone the rumor was OTT wanted both Vaak and Stud in any Stone deal and Sweeney wouldn't budge on it. Could be remembering wrong but look how that turned out lol. I'm not a big Sweeney fan whatsoever so im a little bias in me pessimism but I don't trust this guy and I think Bruins fans are in for a rude awakening over the next 2-5 years.
