Why do you say that? Those are 2/5 of ducks top prospects for a player that could just be a loan if they cant resign like im assuming flames wont be able too

The Ducks also don’t entertain trading for a high price rental in the middle of a rebuild

I can see that argument but i think this team surprises a lot of people this year. They’ve rebuilt and have the prospects and draft picks to deal if they want to make a playoff push

For the price of that player, if he resigns would Anaheim would be a completely different story

For sure if he would resign but going to a third team in a year away from being UFA for the first time I can’t see any player wanting to not wanting to rest the market

Imo ducks could prob give him the most even if he decides to test market given their current cap situation

Disagree because we have Zegras Terry and Drysdale who will need contracts totaling over 20 million is assume so that money will be used up quickly

How much and long would you expect JH to sign if he were to sign extension to ducks if this were to happen? 29-30yo winger id assume anywhere from 6-8mil yr maybe 2-5yr long max; and for Zegras Drysdale and terry go i see them all getting 2-4 yr deal worth about 4-6 mil so could be possible

That is not how I see it, I see:
Zegras - 8 x $8,000,000
Terry - 6 x $6,000,000
Drysdale - 3 x $3,500,000 maybe more if it’s a long term deal

Ngl i think your onto something there but if they were to sign Zegras that long i see it closer to 9mil aav if he keeps up production like he has done which is still manageable with 500k leftover from your 20mil assumption but at the same time i dont feel like ducks resign shatenkirk next season which would free up about 4mil.(5mil if zegras signs 8x8) which could squeeze JH onto the team for 2-3yr at 4-5mil

I think he would want something like 5 x 8 on his next deal, possibly the Giroux contract as a starting point

Heh. Why on Earth would Anaheim do that? They are a long way from contending. Long enough, anyway.

I think you don’t understand that the competition in the pacific division now has taken a huge hit, and ducks have a solid young team that are doing better than expected with a very good goalie tandem at the moment to help make up for poor deftnes. I easily see them making a wild card position(3-4th best in division) if not sneak into 2nd best in division behind Oilers

Okaaay, but that's not contending. Trading a great prospect for a rental isn't likely in their program right now.

After john moore(2.75)derek grant(1.5) and kevin shattenkirk(3.9) contracts end this season that leaves 8.125m on the table. And after resigning the guys above in the thread if they were to get signed to that much, there is 2.5m left there so total of 10.625mil to use to sign. Room to sign him 2-5yr 6-8.5mil aav ehile keeping all the core future pieces and eith JK on team there is good chance they can make a good splash into playoffs and if there lucky a cup series. They have the talent but need another proven vet to be a threat

Heh. Huberdeau probably isn't taking that sort of deal.
