Lots of Trades, But No Blockbusters

Description
We all know what's important to Garth: moving up in the draft. So let's trade away a few players for picks. When Draft Day comes, Garth can work his usual Draft Day magic (whether you like Snow or not, he has shown time and time again that he's an expert at maneuvering on Draft Day), lose a few 2nd or 3rd rounders and get us another Barzal or Ho Sang. This also sets us up for the Expansion Draft, making it harder for Vegas to take a good player for nothing:

Protect: Tavares, Ladd, Strome, Lee, Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic, Pulock, Greiss

After that, we sign UFA RW Sam Gagner, an old friend of JT's to balance out the loss of Nelson and Bailey.

To be clear, I don't think this is anywhere close to the best we can do. We NEED an elite addition to the team this offseason, but taking into account what Garth Snow is good and bad at, I think this is one of the better ways the offseason could turn out.

overpay for ganger, wouldve liked to see you try and move up into the 1st again with one of those picks you got from a trade, and would rather not lose de haan for a 3rd even if it is just his rights. Would rather sign him because the defense without him goes from pretty bad to bad

Also he's an RFA, he pretty much has to sign with the team that holds his rights since offer sheets are pretty rare and successful ones are even rarer.

It would be if we weren't the Islanders. Why do you think we signed Grabovski for 5m a year? No one will play for us unless we offer them overpayment

I do not see snow over pay for another 3rd liner at this point in Gagners career
