Flyers not giving up TK for JG's rights and then only signing him to 7 years when he hits free agency tomorrow and they can just offer him money without sending assets. TK has a lot more value than that. Fletcher is going to have to package one of the 2024 firsts with JVR, and then buy out Lindblom today.

Isn't Ellis supposed to be ready to play by training camp, or at least early in the season?

I'm not on the TK train. He struggled mightily last year having 8 goals through the first 46 games but was able to finish strong. He has been openly frustrated at times and I think with his salary / production now might be a good time to move him while he still has the value you guys are talking about.

Two very in the know local reporters have mentioned Ellis not possibly not playing again so I think that's a little too optimistic which is why I think they're in a better spot for JohnnyG. Don't fill these "needs" everyone is talking about. Let young guys step in and you still add the high end talent that the Flyers have missed for the last 10 years.

Everyone struggled under AV… JVR had 24 goals, 22 of them came after AV was fired. Konecny put up a .75 PPg average after that firing… don’t sell low, not to mention he is due for a breakout year if you follow his growth curve along guys like Miller, Marchand, Nylander, etc… all who had very similar production at 22-25 years

Im not on the TK train either but he's still productive and from what a bunch of insiders are saying the flyers are fielding a lot of calls on him, you don't move him for rights for a guy who could sign in NJ, NY or anywhere tomorrow. JG is as good as gone for Calgary, if they deal for his rights it will be similar to what they did for Hayes, a 4th or 5th rounder so they can get that extra year out of the contract at 8 years instead of 7 and maybe lower the AAV for cap purposes.
