Muzzin will not waive to go to Edmonton. He wants to stay as close to Toronto as possible where both his and his wife's family is.

Also, Strome is expected to get approx. $3.5 million per

He is going to test free agency to see if he can get a big pay day, not just make the same somewhere else. They can sign him to $5.5 million if they want

Because otherwise you have to wait 24 hours before the player can join you, regardless of what city their AHL team is in. Also, having them on the roster means you can avoid possibly losing them to waivers.

Most of the Leafs call-ups this year are going to be players that cant be claimed off waivers or players that nobody would claim off waivers
