He isn't signing that. He is getting at least 10.5 in FA IMO

Strome isn't agreeing to that number and you definitely don't want him as a winger

Gonna ice a 21 man roster with 35k in cap space? That’s a distaste waiting to happen. Also, Gaudreau will get 10m+ on the open market

that's the same offer he is getting in Calgary, and to play with Draisaitle and McDavid he might consider. Problem is this destroys Oilers ability to add depth to their lineup and that's what kept them out of the Stanley cup finals.

He got 8 years offered which would be equivalent to almost 11 mill for 7 years

Don't see why oilers are the ones adding to that sens trade. Brown for jp straight up is a win for Ottawa the rest is just overkill to acquire brown with only one year remaining.
Barrie is better than bear might save some cash in that trade but results will show why bear doesn't make as much.
Now for the fun trade I'm honestly shocked don't see suggested more often Reimer has kinda gone under the radar for the past little while I really like that idea would be my second choice. I'm kinda keeping my eye on what's going on with the wild kinda got a pricy tandem considering the cap issues going on there sounds as if bit of drama going on behind the scenes. I like Talbot more because the organization knows him better much of the core group have played behind him before.

What kept Edmonton out of the finals was running into a juggernaut while several VERY important players were crippled. Would have been a much more interesting series had we had a couple of those guys playing at even 80%

Maybe I won't say anything about Smiths performance he kinda got "healthy" just in time to save the season without him last year very possible miss playoffs altogether. Health was a massive issue

Had you guys had a Fleury or Gibson or even a Reimer, the season would never have been in doubt nor would your playoffs.

If Smith was healthy all year the season wouldn't have been at risk either. It's hard to say with how playoffs went but I don't think goaltending was near the top of reasons why got eliminated. Colorado was a darn good team and Oilers were really banged up. I think it was a massively successful year.
