Giroux likely gets more than $5mil
Holloway should play on the wing in his first season

Canes pass. Zero interest giving up a decent pick for an overpaid PP Specialist

I should have specified in the description that the return isn’t solidified in stone, and that I see him as a fit for Dallas and the Canes.

You dont have any cap space left to make a trade for Helley.
Id rather they sign Kane to less term with a higher cap hit.
There will be a bidding war for Deslauriers, hes not going to sign for anything less then 3-4yrs x $1.5-$2million.
If Foegele is going to be a press box player trade him, his cap hit is too high for that!
Ditto for Yamo, if you are going to play him on the 4th line on his off side, trade him for something that fits the roster better.
Pass on Chiarot, he will want more money then that and he is not worth it.

I believe Kane is passed his BS. And I’d lock him up long term for that cap hit, IF he and the sharks settle and he chooses Edmonton over the higher AAV on the market.

I think Kane and his agent are over estimating alot of GM's ability to forgive and forget his past issues. None of his long term contracts have ended well. Hockey media is making it sound like there is going to be a line up of teams willing to give Kane a 7 x $7mill deal the minute he hits free agency. I think that is out to lunch considering 3 things.
1) His history
2) Flat cap era
3) He isnt going to score at that pace if he isnt playing along side McD

Yes there will be multiple teams interested, but he is going to have a harder time getting the deal he wants than him and his agent thinks.
If I were the Oilers I would hit him with a 4x$6mill or 3x$7mill offer. I do agree tho that SJ is going to end up paying him something as well tho.

Jets decline as they aren't rebuilding this year (see comments from GM and coach) so they'll keep Hellebuyck. If the Jets falter again, then they'll have to make a decision in the 2023 offseason when Hellebuyck has one year left on his deal.

Dylan strome might be a interesting add, give draisaitle a full time shot at playing with mcdavid. Might not be the production of kane but possibly easier on the room, and a junior connection to mcdavid

I could see canes being interested in Barrie but would be for a third pair role and to run one of PPs. Because of that I think it would require retention since they won’t want to pay 4.5 for that.
