Revisiting the cap dump of Orpik to the the Leafs.(Rodzik's post)

Created by: palhal
Team: 2017-18 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 11, 2017
Published: May 11, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
As suggested earlier, Caps clear house and create cap room for themselves. Dermott looks NHL ready and Rychel though iff to be an NHL as made great strides this year. Leafs are apparently in the running for UFA 28 year old Dadavov (I probably butchered his name). Arizona get two mid prospects for Leafs two LTIRs. Hyman moved to 4th line centre which might be more to the Leafs liking than Matthews LWer. Too bad Gauthier is on LTIR. Would have liked to see him at centre too.

I was originally a fan of this trade but Orpik looked awful and I'm not sure Niskanen is enough of a reward, also we're dealing away some really good prospects in the deal so I don't think its worth it

Nice to see you back PalHal.

There is no need to dump Lupul and Horton at all. Especially not at the cost of Andreas Johnsson. They don't effect us at all.

I like Niskanen... but I'm sure Washington does too. However, I don't like him enough to take on Orpik and lose Dermott.

Johnsson and Dermott are players.

Victor: Thanks for the welcome back. Speaking of which, I haven't seen many posts of you lately. Maybe you have a life.smile

Agree with on Dermot. He looks like he is going to be an NHL Dman. But I'm not sold on just about any of the Marlie wingers as "difference makers" in the NHL. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see Johnson, Leipsic at all as being NHLers. Maybe Rychel who has improved greatly but that's about it IMO.

I've watched a lot of Marlies and there are four NHLers on that team right now. Dermott, Johnsson, Kapanen and Grundstrom.

There are a couple of maybes as well Nielsen, Rychel, Leipsic.

Won't all be Leafs though.
