Description
-I keep Bozak and JVR. They still have lots of games in them and they bring a lot.
-I bring back Boyle, what's not to love about him for a 4th line centre, I hope this is what the goat becomes
-I deal a couple of prospects in positions the leafs have filled.
-I deal draft picks to get exactly what the leafs are trying to draft.
-I sign a couple of youngish Dmen that were top prospects just a few years ago in the hopes they are late bloomers or the leafs staff/program can help them transition into what scouts thought they could become
-**I really believe that in a couple years when somebody releases one of those mock re-drafts Dermott and Bracco would have been first rounders

    1. Trouba, Jacob
    Additional Details:
He isn't happy in Winnipeg as he already requested out. He did get the ice time he wanted but only because Myers was out for most of the year. Myers will be back this season.
Winnipeg gets a real nice LHD prospect
Winnipeg gets a real nice forward prospect
As they have a couple players starting to age a bit these guys maybe able to jump in 2019

    3. 2019 1st round pick (TOR)
    4. 2020 3rd round pick (TOR)
    Additional Details:
Pains me to trade Bracco but the leafs have their top 3 RWer's. I think this kid is gonna be a stud.
Hate to trade Dermott but again the leafs have their top 2 LHD and I also think Andrew Nielsen is better.
I have no trouble trading the 2019 first rounder, by this time it should be 20th-25th overall, the leafs need the young stud RHD.
Gonna toss in another 3rd for Value
I'd even think about another prospect maybe Winnipeg hometown boy Leipsic, I like him but where does he fit into the leafs lineup?

Gauthier was injured on Sunday, knee injury, out for at least six months. Fuhr might be needed and Boyle if he wants to return. Wonder if injured Polak will be ready next fall for action.
Don't think Rosen and Nielsen are NHL ready, but the Leafs do have cap room for at least a short a term Dman.
I disagree with your analysis of Bracco, I don't see him as an NHLer. We can have this discussion in five or ten years from now. Agree Dermott could be a good NHLer as soon as next year.

Bad news about Gauthier, we are thin at center already in the system, I was hoping Gauthier could fight for the job 4th line center next camp but now....

Before the Gauthier injury, I thought the Leafs would go with Matthews, Kadri and Bozak at centre with Gauthier and Fehr and the fourth/fifth guys....That would be pretty solid.
Apparently the injury, 100 feet away from the play, the knee hunting Dotchin took him out. Apparently no video.

I like it, I would love for them to land Trouba. I don't think that package gets it done though. The first is too far away and while Dermott is a good piece, I am not as high on Bracco as you are. I feel that if they want Trouba Gardiner would be going the other way as part of the package.

I don't see the need for Jets to trade Trouba away, no problem to protect him for expansion draft, no cap issues with 18Million and 18 player on roster next season. A RHD plays PP and PK, 23 years old...they have all their picks next 3 years, I just dont see it happen from their side. And on the Leafs side Lou and Babcock said at the end of playoffs; they want more players to compete for jobs and have players capable of coming up from Marlies in case of injuries. That doesn't happen if you trade your prospects and 1rst rounders away.
There are teams with cap issues and expansion draft issues to target first like Ducks, Wild, Capitals...where you can get veteran D with 1-2 years left with high CAP who can log PK min and help develop our young D, or some options at FA. Polak would be 1 year contract (same as this season) but with leg injury with long recovery I don't know will be signed.
Boyle everyone wants him back but he might not want to commit to play 4th line if someone offers him 3rd line min somewhere else
Brown is RFA with qualifying offer of 715,000 I think some more will be offered but only one year as he is still under team control, and next year value what length and salary contract having in mind depth at RW in the system.

Good trade for TO. If Trouba is really disgruntled, can Leafs leverage that in their favor (Omit the third, or just package two 2nds, save 1st)?

For the Jets, would need immediate replacement for trouba (unsure of depth on D), and possibly a scoring forward.
