The Bruins need Haula more than Muzzin.

Red Wings decline. I'm not sure what's funnier. The trade or you giving Zadina 4 years 4 mil AAV. LOL

Detroit passes, We don't want your scraps.

And yeah like Aaron Ekblad is waiving his NMC for a team he grew up hating as a child. He grew up a Red Wings fan not a Leafs fan.

And why does boston make that trade? Subtract from their biggest position of need, to add to their biggest position of strength, and make their cap situation worse?

Interesting that you sign Zadina to 4m contract but all you offer is one year rental Holl, a never to be NHLer and a pretty meaningless pick.
Florida doesn't need more offence or any cap, so that's an easy no there.
Boston say no to the cap and position need
After all that, still not a cap practical team

So he actually overpays Zadina while underpaying Jack Campbell. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

Wait are the Red Wings missing something? You get Zadina for nothing, then you pay him 3 times more than Detroit would if we just kept him... Hmmmm

with the way this trade went down, you should have done Marner for Zadina... We would probably include a 2nd with him...

Welcome to CapFriendly!! Every new user over values their favorite team at first and as you can see the comments can be a bit vicious don't take it personal and read as many ACGMs as possible with the comments and you should be fine.

-Malgin is a non-asset so it's basically Holl/3rd for Zadina. Detroit would pass on that, needing a little more.

-I think if anyone adds to this it would be the Toronto side. RHD is more valuable than a winger, plus Marner's salary is $3M more than Ekblad's. At the end of the day I think it just doesn't happen because the Panthers are tight up against the cap and would be even tighter with this move.

-Boston has Hampus Lindholm, Derek Forbert, Mike Reilly, and Matt Grzelcyk all signed to play LD next season. They probably have to move one out, they're not going to bring one in.

Detroit don't need any RD so that trade is essentially Zadina for a 3rd and needs more than a "little more".

Zadina's value has been so hard to gauge - it feels like some Wings fans want to give him time to grow and others are worried he's a bust and want to get value back on him before it bottoms out. I honestly can't figure out what a "fair" offer for him would be (although we both agree this isn't it)

Zadina has very good underlying numbers in almost all areas except scoring. He was the second best (behind Bertuzzi) on the team this year in drawing penalties and he was best last season. Putting your team on the PP is good even if you don't play there yourself. He's also one of the better on the team in giveaways/takeaways and a good hitter and shotblocker. He had a scoring percentage of only 5.1 this year so even a modest increase will make him a valuable piece for Detroit. I think most Detroit fans want to keep him for another year to see what happens with a new coach and perhaps better linemates before deciding to dump him.

I've seen a few ACGMs propose a straight swap for Nils Höglander and it would take that type of offer for me to consider it.
