Description
This will be pretty simple. Ideally, it will be a slow continuation of what has been going on. No crazy trades, no huge push to make the playoffs. Let the young guns get better. I Just tried to have fun with this, I could be totally wrong and others may have better ideas. Thanks!

Nate Schmidt trade: I've seen many trades for him for this price all over. I think it's worth it for cheap, especially if he is available. Good locker room guy and may pair well with Seider.

Zadina Trade: I personally don't view him as part of Detroit's future because of his struggles here, but also he's not an Yzerman draft pick. I think him for Debrusk and a mid-level prospect will for sure make this happen. Debrusk will fit in well on Detroit, a young exciting team. Bruins may take Zadina, he has potential, I just don't see it being unlocked on Detroit. I'm a big fan of Mantykivi, let me know if this is too much in either direction, I'm unsure.

Phillips Trade: Very simple, he's got offensive talent, but won't be used in Calgary. We take him for cheap.

Draft: With their first-round pick, I'd try to trade back and pick either, Nazar or Lekkerimaki.

Signings: Nothing too crazy, I think Copley and Pickard can both compete for backup position, I like both. Other depth signings and giving what I think people deserve.

Edvinsson won't be a #8D. He'll be playing big minutes in Grand Rapids if he isn't playing each game in Detroit.

Oh for sure, I just put him there because I was unsure if he would make the big club. That would silly if he sat at 8D lmao

This is closer to the Yzerplan than most. No crazy UFA signings and not trading multiple assets for a single player. I doubt Boston would accept that trade. Zadina hasn't produced as expected and his trade value isn't very good. I think his value to Detroit is greater than his trade value.

Zero reason for Boston to do that deal. DeBrusk had more goals than Zadina had points this season

I’m just curious how you could arrive at the conclusion that the bruins would have any interest in that trade. Doubt Sweeney even calls the front office together to discuss that one.

Good intentions but get another defender to help Hronek out. Playing Walman with Hronek is a bad idea, he's one of the few players with even more giveaways than Hronek, those two together would be a disaster in our defensive zone. Get Pettersson from PIT and give up on Staal, he's already too slow for the NHL and won't get faster next year.
