Easy no from Ottawa. Philly is sending the exact opposite type of pieces ottawa is looking to add.

Is Provorov a lot worse than I think he is, or is this just totally awful for Philly?

Am I crazy here? I hate giving up Pinto, but this is a slam dunk to me. Even if you don't think Ottawa needs Provorov, you can easily flip a player like that for about a dozen different top 6 wingers across the league. Or has Provorov fallen off hard without me noticing?

No you're right, that's a pretty bad trade for Philly
(Although I am biased)

In a realistic deal, I agree. But in this case the return is ridiculous. Setting aside Cates and Sandstrom who are effectively throw ins, Branny is a good player but not a very valuable asset at this stage imo, and even with 1mil Murray is still probably negative value given injury history and inconsistent play. Effectively its Pinto + salary dump for Provorov, and I don't know how you say no to that. Love the Bean to death, but there's not a world where a C prospect coming off a missed season is more valuable than an established 25 year old Dman playing 24min a night. Even if you don't want him, you can flip him for basically any top 6 winger who might be on the market.

yeah I think you'd have to say yes, you can almost certainly flip provorov for that top 6 winger we've been looking for, even if provorov doesn't fit the Sens needs. As much as I love Pinto and think he could be a big part of the future, he's pretty pencilled in as the 3rd liner, and if we move a guy who will play on our 3rd line and turn him into a high-end top 6 winger, you can't really say no to that

I think Pinto is probably more tradable than Sens fans maybe realize. I still think he's off limits for the most part, but the breakout of Tim Stützle as a budding 1C is a massive development for Ottawa's centre ice outlook long term, and with Greig in the system too, I think there's a situation where you can at least consider it.
