Chuck probably isnt this smart

Created by: Pensfan89
Team: 2021-22 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 23, 2022
Published: Mar. 23, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Philly gets a solid player they can trade in the offseason and get a solid return on. They don’t need him because they want a better draft pick anyway. He should have value in the offseason from a team not desperate to trade him. But any team trading for Dadanov should fleece the knights.
Trades
PHI
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni
  2. 2023 1st round pick (VGK)
  3. 2024 1st round pick (VGK)
VGK
  1. Ellis, Ryan
  2. Fitzgerald, Ryan
Additional Details:
Ryan Ellis had a similar cap hit to Kesler, they don’t have to take on Moore, and now they can circumvent the cap to take Stone off LTIR

I don't believe y'all have the cap space to do this trade during the season.

Because the flyers suck and should look at getting better not keeping a guy that like never plays. They get 2 first rounders and a guy that can bring even more return in the offseason.

The flyers have 8.4 million in cap space after this trade. Not sure how they don’t have the cap space to do it in season.

Vegas can get cap space without giving two first rounders.

Whoops, I saw Projected Cap Space and went with that number instead of the actual current one. With that in mind, yeah, this makes a lot of sense to me. I'm fond of the Flyers, I'd like to see them fleece Vegas.

Guess we'll see how serious they are about that whole "Cup in five seasons" plan, because if I'm literally any GM in this league I'm playing the hardest of hard ball when the Vegas front office comes calling and take them for everything I can. (Granted, my taste runs more to "a 1st and Brisson", but ya know, everyone has their own quirks)

The Flyers sucked this year because they played 75% of their season without their 1st pair defensman or their top 2 centers.

The trouble with Dadadov trade is that if he that M NTC, it's finding the team he would wants to be traded to, and can have his cap for next year.
Vegas other option not to trade Davodov and trade Reilly Smith 5m and is UFA next season. That would be a cheap trade.

Yeah, as far as I can tell, the teams that are 100% out of the playoffs & with 5m in cap space are Arizona, Buffalo, Columbus, Detroit, New Jersey, Ottawa (ha), Philly & Seattle - I think it's a safe bet that at least two of the eight are out (most likely Arizona and Ottawa) but given that we know that Anaheim is on his no fly list (sorry, sorry, i crack myself up), I think it's unlikely that all of them are off the table. There's got to be at least a couple of teams on that list that Vegas can try calling - and if I'm one of those GMS I take them for all I can.

They'd be insane to try and move Smith. Sure, he's UFA next season, but it would be a genuine mistake to break up the Misfit Line if they're serious about trying to make the playoffs.

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Canadian and california teams that are on his NTC. I’d think Philly isn’t on his no trade list. But I can’t imagine that teams would take less than anaheim was getting. Teams know how desperate vegas is to get rid of him now. From what I understand is that not only do they need to get rid of Dadanov, but they need a significant LTIR contract too just to get Stone off LTIR. Which really limits their choices.

I disagree. It might cost more. The good thing about Dadanov is the other team gets a solid forward signed next year. So they can choose to keep him or trade him come offseason. Smith is a pending UFA who is playing well and also playing for a new contract. I think trading him instead would make the management team look even worse cause they would be screwing a player playing for another contract since he can’t play anymore after the trade.

Oh wow, yeah, that really narrows down their options, like, a LOT. Woof. I think that takes the options down to Chicago and Philly, and I don't think that taking Shaw's contract is would be enough to get Stone back -- and I don't think they make the playoffs without Stone. Only question there is whether or not Philly still has faith in Ellis's return for next season, I guess?

Ellis has had trouble staying healthy the last several seasons. I think he’s only had 1 season the past like 5-6 years where he hasn’t missed more than 10 games. I think it might be good to get out of that contract and use draft capital to get someone who will be more likely to play more. A players best ability is his availability.
