Other teams aren't giving him 9 either.
My god dude. He's 36 years old next season, wanting term. No one is signing him to anywhere near 9. Talk about lunacy. No one would do that.
As a matter of fact, 7.5 probably is a very high optimistic value.
It's not a matter of if the wheels come off but when and at 36.... it's any minute now. Everyone knows that. Including the penguins.
Fact is, the offer he gave up above is more in like with the Hall offer. 4x6. Which I have said on here is probably the starting point. It's not a slap in the face, he doesn't play defense, he doesn't win faceoffs, the PP struggles, and eventually his legs are going. Hell he has more points on the PP than he does even strength. That's a very telling sign.

Seriously this is too funny to let go. Geno will sign for 4x6?! That is your guess??????

Let’s mark this post to remember.

And you also talk of PP struggles. You mean the Penguin PP that is near top in the league since Malkins return from injury????

And all the Pens fans wonder why everyone on this site think we are all ****ing **** with our trades on here.

Just wow. Whatever you say dude. Keep posting and getting your street cred. You are a fool to think any of this.

His 5v5 points are low because he has Heinen and ****ing Kapanen as his wingers. But Geno sucks.

sure thing. And Chara was still a good player in BOS. DK was "playing great" last year, and Bergeron isn't slowing down.
FFS dude.
Stop being a homer. He's 35 years old. Anyone watching him play knows he's slowed down. The production shows that. A Geno when they were doing cup runs in his upper 20 could carry a line by himself. Now he needs line mates that can help. That's why like like HBK worked out. But now he's 35 and needs help. It's ok, players get old, happens to all of them. The fact he's still able to be productive at all at 35 is frankly a huge freaking win for the penguins. But you can stop with the acting like ANYONE is giving him 9 mil per with term. No one is.
The Hall contract is the start. 4x6. I will go up from there, but without a doubt that is the starting point. Because the last years of that contract, will probably be awful. Because guys at 39 are fill in help role players.

Bro the fact you gotta make **** up is telling. I didn’t say ANYONE would give him 9M. I said plenty of teams . That means 5-7 teams would give him 9M for 2 years.

What he is giving the Lens as a 35 year old is amazing. You are correct.

More importantly, if Geno says I want 7.5-8.5M for 3 years, you would tell him no??

You should learn to read.
I said the hall contract is the starting point. Not my guess. I have him at 4x7 actually. And yes, that is reasonable.

This is great. All this **** bantering from you and you say your starting point is 4x7….
I’ve said repeatedly that my starting from the Pens is 4x7.5 lololol

So all of this crying from you because I suggest there are a few teams that would offer him 2x9.

So I’m a homer??? When I say the Pens offer is the SAME as yours.

Go to bed mate, it’s late, and you have 27 posts to make tomorrow on here.

Tbh, I would. He is the least important of the big 3 UFAs imo. Letang’s the most important. He’s kept in amazing shape and still playing at an elite level. You know Rust is amazing with Crosby and Guentzel and in the middle of his prime. I’d say 3x6 is pretty fair for Geno. He’s said he is willing to take a pay cut and wants to retire a penguin should be good enough. Pavelski is a whole different case. I also can’t see any other team giving Malkin above 8 million. Contenders are going to be cap strapped and being Hertl, Giroux, Kadri, Klingberg, Burakovsky, Nischuskin, etc being UFAs I see teams using up a lot of their cap going after those younger players. Just my opinion though.
