Middleton's defensive metrics, salary and age would command a 2nd at least. Very easy decline here.

Yeah I don’t think he’s worth that much, he’s more valuable to the team than a pick that has very low statistical probability of making the nhl

Avs don't make that trade as it's an overpay for a part they don't actually need. Giroux would be nice to have but is no necessity. Sharks decline the other trade.

That PHI is a massive overpayment without assurance he would be signing a cost friendly extension.
