Probably priced himself out of NYRs with their cap issues, based on his season. Plus he’s a bit too old to sign long term for the rangers, who can’t take any more expensive, longer contracts

and how exactly are you going to sign players next year and fill out your roster next season. Kadri is probably the last thing the Rangers should do, they will be in cap hell

It's really not cap compliant next season. Add two more players, and Rangers certainly don't want to carry over any bonuses. I would think Kadri for six years is too much term.
