YOLO Drury Wants to Win A Cup

Created by: Nobokov
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 14, 2022
Published: Feb. 14, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think these trades are decent but ONLY if we operate under the idea that this NHL trade deadline will be a buyer's market. I think with the lack of a playoff race in the East, only a light playoff race in the west, and many teams being weary of going all-in given the failure of many past deadline trades (Nick Foligno for a 1st, for example) we'll see lighter returns than many fans of selling teams might expect. I still think these are some pretty decent trades if the Rangers wanted to utilize their immense amount of mid-season cap space to create an evil empire superteam.

Georgiev > Holtby
Miller+Henriksson < Pavelski+Petrovic

I don't see the point for NYR to include Georgiev and Holtby here, and I don't see DAL dealing Pavelski for Miller.

Definite no from Winnipeg. There isn't enough value there for Copp alone, so no chance Winnipeg throws in a top 4D for the hell of it. Even in a buyers market two low to no value players and a late 2nd don't get you two very good players.

LMAO. The team has been at the top of the Metro and East all season and here we go and demolish it.

Holtby has a better SV% than Georgiev with more games played though, I'd rather Holtby tbh.

Georgiev being a RFA is something that adds to his value imo. Otter-Georgiev could be a good tandem to go towards next year.

These were the exact same reason’s you said on why you didn’t want Vanecek. You can’t tell me he’s better than VV because statistically he isn’t.

I mean obviously it's unrealistic for all these trades to happen but the fact of the matter is the Rangers' 5v5 game needs improvement and their run of success is too reliant on Shesterkin's heroics and Kreider's wild shooting percentage bender.

Adding players like this would provide more of a foundation for sustained success into the playoffs.

If the Rangers are trying to win a Cup in 2022 I can see them being at peace of mind with Holtby in the playoffs in case Shesterkin goes down. Can't see that with Georgiev.

As for Pavelski I think that getting a player like Miller, who was an all-rookie defenseman last year and has shown the ability to handle top-4 minutes at a young age is a really strong return. It's a relatively high-end asset with lots of team control and the ability to step in right away for Pavelski who is great but also a pending UFA. Nill could always go the quantity for quality route with Pavs and that would be totally reasonable but I think getting K'Andre would be a great add for him.

I don't think he is better than Vanecek.

But assuming we're in the playoff race and our status is not a seller, I'd be in for adding both.

If we're out of it and retooling, then just trade Holtby for a pick and keep on sucking.

It's so confusing honestly...why can't we have a certain goal in mind lol.

I think less is more. More focus should be placed by this team on fixing and fielding a competitive 3rd line because at it is (currently, not on your team) its hot garbage.

This is how Id like to see it done.

Pavs is a rental sure, but also probably the player with best performance in the entire market. He's top-5, maybe even top-3 RW in terms of performance in the entire league, having elite statistics both offensively and defensively. His game has no weakness.

As of right now from NYR I'd be looking at Lundkvist+1st. DAL would be willing to take a bad contract in this exchange and add a depth asset too. But the need for a RHD is MUCH more pressing than LHD, especially with Klingberg likely leaving after this year.

Miller doesn’t get it done. Nils or Schneider would be what Dallas would be after. Not saying NY should do that
