on paper, you are correct Chiarot is worth a 2nd round pick, but the fact that he will be coveted by 4 to 5 teams will push that to a 1st round pick.

Rangers shouldnt be getting into a bidding war for Chiarot. Its not that serious.

and you are probably right. I still think Chiarot will fetch a 1st round pick, to some team, going for it.

Its possible, especially if they ask the Habs to retain 1m or so.

Rangers could probably pick up DeHaan at the TDL if they want a LD who is solid defensively and don't want to get priced out on Chiarot. We could retain also.

Strome and Chytil deal seems like a move we would do, I just like Strome and couldn't do it.

As much as I’d like to get a Kravtsov or a Schneider, or even a Robertson & a 1st for Pavelski, this trade is pretty close to fair value for him.

A top-9 caliber prospect & a 1st in what’s shaping up to be a pretty great draft class is about what I’d expect Dallas to see in return for Pavelski. If a team wants to beat this offer & give up more then that’s just icing on the cake.

That offer is the absolute limit Id go to for Pavelski. Most dont even want to give up a 1st round pick, which is understandable because this years and next years drafts seem to be shaping up quite nicely with young talent. If I was the Rangers Id stay away from any and all bidding wars for anyone. Theres no reason for the Rangers to go above and beyond for anyone.

Habs could retain on Chiarot. I don't see that as a deal breaker.
