As a blue jackets fan, this is really sad, and really true. It sucks.
I'm cheering for the Blue Jackets in the series but the Penguins WILL sweep them. Like, almost 100% chance that Pittsburgh wins game 4 in my opinion. But hopefully Columbus wins the next 4 games.
God I hope so, it's been a brutal series to watch. Player deployment strategies have been awful, their team identity has been lost, and Bobrovsky looks like a shell of his former self. At this point, all I want is to not get swept and even then it feels like a lot to ask out of this team.

I wouldn't be too worried. Columbus is still a young team and they'll only get better down the road. Jones and Werenski are already both monsters, and Murray, Savard, Nutivaara and Carlsson round out a SCARY young defense corps down the line.

Agree that the youth is extremely promising for the future. I suppose something crazy could happen and CBJ miraculously advance but extremely unlikely. I wouldn't say I'm worried too much about the future (although I'd sure like to make the forward group less heavy, more speed and skill), it's more of the disappointment for the fan base. The franchise has suffered through 17 years of heartbreak and failure and embarrassment. This season looked like it'd be different. But now, all three have occurred. The heartbreak of a hard fought ot loss. The failure to control the pens at all. I've also had some strong contentions regarding player deployment under the coaching staff which is very frustrating that some players aren't being put in a position to succeed. The embarrassing acts of Calvert and Dubinsky too that just contribute to the overall perception that the team is goonish and wants to be physically imposing over fast and skilled. It just stings as a fan, ya know?
In light of some draft pick issues Mr Cap brought up, I think it would be a good idea to have a review of each teams draft picks done so far. Since some guys were using a 17-18 AGM, they were manually entering the draft picks that they traded for and away. So errors were bound to happen with the amount of trades everyone is making.
I would suggest everyone's GM game thread using 16-17 AGM until the end of this season to ensure the picks they have are shown on the draft pick board on their thread so less chances of screw ups happen in the future.
I can already see 2 guys wanting to use the same pick in the draft by accident and then having to back track all the trades they've done to find the error.
I'll set it up then. If there's a group of people that have a problem with it tomorrow, we'll go from there
An idea to help with validating your contract offer is mentioning comparables. Going on comparables that I went to go check now, I think you are slightly overpaying even. IMO

I haven't watched any of the series yet, and i don't think i will, but yeah, i think PIT wins the series in 4.

What is a easy way to do this? I've never really found a easy way to

You go to the menu up in the corner, then hit tools, then hit comparables.
If none of those teams come back, I would like another shot, so I guess put me on the list for one of those teams (Nashville, Chicago, Calgary) - in reply to the inactivity of some teams

Voila. But hey even eye balling it a bit is fine. Take a look at some main criterion like age, position, statistics, size, hockey specialty, etc and find the closest players to what you're offering. Gives you an indication if your below market value or above it. Base off what Pearson has done so far and his moderately close comparables, I don't see him being able to get more then 3.333M. TBH.

Chicago has been half an hour! Is that too long?
Yeah, we're firing any GMs that go half an hour without doing anything. Totally ... not.
For the entry draft I like Krakowicz's idea of using a thread for the picks so it's easy for everyone to see and Ricochetii's idea of doing a vote to pick a day or weekend that works for the most people is best because then the people that can't make it could just submit that list. Everyone creating a list would be too confusing and hard to track. I think starting immediately after the draft lottery makes the most sense because that would allow us to give people longer intervals for picks. I'm also on Zach's side for letting teams draft all 7 rounds if they want to since that is a key part of being a GM. Auto selections following a scouting list could be used for people who don't care.

Just saw the activity now. Chicago wasn't present for a few days prior. Nashville hasn't been active since April 7th and Calgary has been sitting dormant since the 9th. So the rudeness of the comment wasn't needed, it was an honest mistake, going off of a post in the "Firing GMs thread"

Ok, sorry. Yeah, Nashville has been a while but we should wait a few more days.

If Nashville isn't active within the next few days can I be a part of the short list to take that GM spot?
