Without comparing Kakko and Lundell, and just for the purposes of discussion, I feel like there's going to be at least 4-5 teams that regret not taking Lundell.

As a Ducks fan, my wish list for 6 OA in that draft went (Knowing that Laffy/Byfield would be gone):
-Drysdale
-Lundell
-Stutzle
-Raymond
-Holtz (And Raymond/Holtz were basically just in that order as an homage to Brooklyn nine nine...)

Worked out perfectly for the Ducks, because RD was their biggest need, but I wouldn't have shed too many tears with a future Zegras/Lundell/(Now McTavish)/Whoever core up the middle.

Well I won’t argue which of these guys is worth more than the other since neither are near their potential. KK making 900K is a far cry from his value so maybe your evaluation of him isn’t as accurate as you think. 3M bridge is realistic. While he missed a handful of games to start the season, stats aren’t piling up yet, he has still looked great. But of course if he scores 4G and 13A all season long then sure, 900K makes sense.

Unless NYR are blown away with an offer, no way are they moving Kakko. First, moving him would essentially leave Goodrow as their top RW (at some point they will realize Kreider and LaF are better utilized at other than RW). Second, who knows what Kakko will become as a player- but I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a player who is "better than what his box car numbers" indicate...meaning I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a strong possession player, strong PKer, etc w/ decent (but not great) point production...this might just keep his salary from going to the stratosphere. Even with CAP going up over the next few years...only so many players can make the real big money.

That all said...Lundell looks like a legit top 6 C. Only thing keeping him from top line is Barkov. FLA is in a great situation there with no reason to think about changing that- unless given an obscene offer!
