none of you people on this site know anything

Description
This Eichel trade is perfect proof that people on the site overrates players on their own teams. If Eichel can be had for this, and Ristolainen can be traded for what he was traded for; then I don't want to hear that any trade is "way off" or isn't realistic because it's clear that none of us know what these players will actually go for. Well, here's a Knights team next year

i agree, it is all subjective. it's just wild to me seeing how defensive people on here get about trades that they know nothing about. on almost every AGM, you'll see someone getting **** on for something dumb like a depth player for a 3rd.

You'd think they'd give the benefit of the doubt. The problem is that once the momentum goes in one direction, it becomes tribal like behaviour with the pilling on

I feel like, ignoring the hilarious "nose in the air" "holier than thou" snarky comments, you're really contradicting yourself here.

Value is affected BY timing and leverage. It doesn't just not exist.

You're really nitpicking here. Not going to get into argument over tone. Thanks

These people are usually just schoolchildren.

I don't even think it's about people's ability of discussing value, I think it's more about their inability to just discuss and have a conversation with people, especially online. Didn't just yesterday someone in the AGMs started to troll some CGY fans for their takes on Tkachuk's not being on the table in trade talks which were allegedly proven false after the Weekes' tweet?

Seems like basic manners like giving a common respect for a people who one's talking are very much forgotten when it comes to discussing opinions online. Like, my opinion is the only correct opinion and if you disagree with me then you're a f*cktard in need of education.

Lots of trolls here for sure. The "ignore" list is under utilized. Interestingly though, there's also people in this thread who are complaining about the way people talk to each other (not you), that have also said things like "you must be autistic" in a thread (true story. Don't know how it's still up.)

I'm sure we've all been guilty of getting sucked in on a topic that isn't worth it. Gotta trust the 'ol ignore button though. Plenty of people that are a joy to have a hockey discussion with on here. Lots of people right in the middle.

Quite true.

Just out of curiosity I went and checked how many users I have ignored. There's 22. And it's most likely about to increase.

It's one of the better add-ons on this site, as when I first signed here in 2017 that wasn't a thing.

Lol everybody thinks highly of their own players it’s called being fans

But value is really hard to determine… there r so many factors involved

And obvious ones like age, cap hit, position and playing ability

If it only depends on the ones listed above then judging trades would be easy

But there r so many other factors involved

Like a teams positional strengths and weaknesses, how they think the player would fit it their playing style, the players personality.. is he easy to work with? Is he greedy? And how the gm’s on both sides of the trade rate a players potential.. is his ceiling top 6? Bottom 6? The owner wants to save some money.. so we have to shed a few million :/

Desperate gm’s r more willing to make risky trades as well

And many more

It’s impossible to rate trades correctly from a public point of view

Their r just so many factors hidden
