Why would the Sabres do this? Absolutely no value in it.

Ah, fine, what about switching the picks to a 1st and a 2nd rounder?

They are just too old for what the Sabres want. They want high end prospects. 18-22 year range

Yeah, and do you think that it's realistic for the Sabres to be asking for a package of 3 or 4 high end prospects? I think just 1 or 2 high end prospects/1st round picks plus 1 or 2 roster players is reasonable enough, and the Sabres are in a cap situation where they actively need to make sure they stay above the salary cap floor

I agree they aren't getting the equivalent of four 1st's, however two top 9 forwards isn't going to come close. Also the Sabres are giving up 2 other roster players in this deal. It just doesn't make sense. Very one sided

Yeah, but Eichel is the only player on Buffalo's end that actually has real legitimate value

Still 2 roster players for most teams in the NHL. But the main point is that their isn't enough value in this trade for buffalo to even consider
