Description

Credit to NHL Rumors Daily (NRD) from the Cold Stove Podcast for this idea. Not saying it is going to happen but it is something HE threw out as Kraztsov to Vegas if they move Krebs and NY getting Smith in return. NY gets a veteran for cheap while Vegas can still have a young player with promise after moving one. Making it a three-way deal makes sense.

Sure. Not sure kravtsov is bringing back a first, but if went down like this, its fine, everybody is sorta happy

i feel like that’s a lot of pieces for vegas to give up. i could see a smith/kravtsov swap happening tho considering vegas needs young guys and cap space and the rangers need RWs

Rangers would not do this. Doesn’t help us beyond this year. And we’re barely gonna contend this year so this move is just dumb unless it’s a prospect coming back that we’d have beyond this year.

Pretty sure we’d rather a younger player in a similar position than someone on an expiring deal. We aren’t cup contenders so this move is pointless.

If the Rangers can get a 1st and 5th for Kravtsov from Vegas that trade would have already been done...

Could see an actual cup contender. Just don’t think we’re the right fit. We certainly need RW help, but more than a 1 year fix imo.

they could always extend smith. there aren’t a ton of younger players in similar spots. i would suggest brannstrom, but he doesn’t fill a position of need for the rangers.

Yeah that’d be too expensive given the rest of the players we’d need to resign. I think we need someone either on an ELC or close to it. All depends on how much Fox takes up cause that will be a huge factor this summer.
