Suspended without pay, it sounds like Hamonic won't be back anytime soon if at all this season. With his salary off the books, the team can give more consideration looking to the trade market to replace him. I've brainstormed a bunch of names who could fit into the lineup in his place:

Markus Nutivaara (Worked with Brad Shaw in Columbus, Shaw loves this guy
Brandon Montour
Jeremy Lauzon
Sean Walker
Matt Roy
Colin Miller
Henri Jokiharju
Calvin De Haan
Artem Zub
Haydn Fleury
Trevor Van Riemsdyk
Connor Clifton
John Marino

Not Likely up for trade/too expensive:

Mikhail Sergachev
Erik Cernak
Jordan Osterle
Dylan Demelo
Justin Braun
Ethan Bear
Scott Mayfield

More Low-key options:

Troy Stecher
Dennis Cholowski
Cale Fleury
William Borgen
Josh Manson
Kevin Shattenkirk
Jani Haakanpaa
Jan Rutta
Matthew Benning

I didn't pick any more offensive minded defensemen like John Klingberg or Vince Dunn because the team is obviously looking for a guy who can take on some of the defensive load. For the time being though, the sheltered pair of Rathbone and Burroughs has looked nice thus far, but is probably only an effective solution short-term
