Pulock will get more than that. Ekholm too, probably.

I know youre basing that pulock extension on pelechs deal but pulock is a better player, and hes a UFA. Its gonna be imo something like 7×7-7.5.

Pelech was better than Pulock last season, but points factor into how much a D gets paid and Pulock has scored 10 goals multiple times in his career which is why he’ll get paid more.

Yes, pelech had a career year and pulock had a terrible year. Also where do you see pelech "was better"? What are you using to determine that?

Pulock wasn’t bad, his underlying numbers were good he just had a career low S%

Every analytics platform had pelech as a top 10 defenseman overall last season. Elite at driving offense as well as being the 2nd best defensively.

Im not saying pelech wasnt great, my question is what metric or model are you using that says he was better than pulock?
As for pulock having a bad season, his entire offensive game was gone. The 3 seasons before last (which was basically his whole career. He played 15 games in 15-16 and 1 in 16-17) he scored at a .5ppg rate consistently. Last year he had a .3ppg. Over those 3 season roughly 1/3 of his points were goals, this season it was roughly 1/9.

Pelech had a higher GF/60, xGF/60, CF/60 (all offensive metrics) than Pulock. Evolving Hockey, micahs isolated impact. And Jfresh all had pelech as the stronger defenseman. Pulock was still above average in all those metrics, but Pelech was elite.

Pulocks offensive game wasn’t gone. In fact Pulock was better at driving offense this season than the previous 3 seasons at even strength. He only had 2 goals but he should have had 6 or 7 based on the quality scoring chances he was getting. That’s just bad luck. Pulock’s production took a hit because of that and the fact that and because no one could finish the chances he created on the powerplay. Next season he’ll be back to a .5 ppg pace

I think there is no reason to bring back Clutterbuck at this point, unless its a 1 year deal
