These Larkin threads need to stop. He's not available and teams wouldn't be, and shouldn't be, willing to pay the INSANE overpayment it would require for Detroit to part with their hometown, 25 yo captain.

The point is its going to require a crazy package to get Larkin and not all these silly prospect dump of deals that people are posting.

Did you just call Strome a mediocre 3C?

Disagree, he would be a nice stop gap but the problem is that he is UFA to be. At the same time, Sens might have to trade Logan Brown as bridges seem to be burned (his dad) and a 2nd is another piece they can afford to give up. They would need to know what kind of contract Strome is looking for and if he would fit in their "first window"

If Sokolov is not just a mirage beast, he might just make the team out of camp and never look back.

Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Stutzle-Strome-Sokolov
Formenton-Pinto-Brown
Paul-White-Watson
Tierney

That top-9 and even whole forward group is pretty damn interesting

I don't think there's any chance that Larkin will be traded but this offer at least warrants a close look.

Strome is worth a 3rd at most, a 2nd from a desperate GM, his numbers are inflated by playing with panarin, OTT got White, tierny and Paul and Bishop or sign a UFA C, they do not waste good assets for a rental mediocre 3C.

We'll have to agree to disagree

Yes Strome isn't as good as his recent numbers but he would be playing with Stutzle and Sokolov. They are young but have plenty of talent. Sokolov is looking like a beast at the moment.. Strome is quick and a good playmaker, that line could work.

We were not talking about giving up prime assets. Bishop lol forget it, he's barely a 4th line center. Tierney is "fine" but not the type Ottawa needs. White maybe and they're probably going to start the season with him as the 3rd line Center.

All that being said, it's totally unfair to call Strome a "mediocre 3C" because he plays with Panarin. Most players putting numbers need to play with good players. That doesn't make Strome bad. He's better than Tierney at the very least.
