Really good contract for Parayko. Interesting how they essentially went for identical cap hits with Krug/Faulk/Parayko. To me, Parayko is potentially the best value of the trio, even though I think that all three are good defensemen. He's only making a million more per year here than what he currently gets. Considering just how grossly overpaid some RHD have been this free agency, that's pretty good for St. Louis.
Its funny any other summer I'd say its a good cap hit, but a little long for his style of play starting at 29 as I think the last 3 years he may be broken.
This summer my reaction was: omg this is an incredible deal! lol
Wow. Fair AAV, but that term... not a fan, but I guess we should expect that from Armstrong. (I also think 65 is his favorite number at this point lol)
I'm surprised at the people who say "great AAV but too much term." Why do they think the AAV is that low? Eight years at $6.5 million per year is better than 6 years for $8,666,666, both for player and team.
This is a great deal for St. Louis (as long as Parayko avoids injury). And it comes a year early!
Hes dropped off the last 2 years. I think this will be fair for the first 4 - 5 years then crappy at the end.
That's quite the exaggeration. He struggled early last season because he was playing with a back ailment, and he's had inconsistent partner after inconsistent partner switched in and out during those two years. When fit, Parayko himself has not been the problem.
Pretty sure you can drop the "unconfirmed" tag, seeing as how the team has announced it.

probably just waiting to see if there are any clauses. I've noticed several other contracts this summer are unconfirmed and then add those in.
Unconfirmed is used until all contract details are confirmed: salary structure, any signing/performance bonuses, trade clauses, etc. Rumoured signings are never posted officially, so the unconfirmed part is used exclusively for details.
