Oilers have actually had the worst two GMs of my lifetime basically back-to-back. Imagine being an Oilers fan and feeling a gut punch every time news breaks

Oh no... LOL.

At the start of the offseason Edmonton had great potential. Now they have a sack of overpaid contracts and 35+ year olds on multi year contracts.

This contract is an overpay AND they gave him 8 years.

According to charts should have made at most 8mill and even that was considered overpaying

Its a math formula in itself

North Division + Mcdavid x Holland = 9.25mill

Nurse is worth 5 mill x 5 at best - Holland has built arguably the worst D core in the league , and one of the most expensive ones as well. He should have sold high on Nurse and went with:

Mccabe-Bear
Kulikov-Bouchard

Much better top 4 than what they have now.

Nurse is a great D, however he’s not worth 9mil, about market value though ( he can thank Seth Jones ) and of course Ken Holland would never just give a fair deal

Edmonton now have 7M of capspace left for next year with only 15 roster players signed.

They wont have depth anytime soon..
