Kane has baggage but his performance is stellar. And we’re sending a 2nd? Completely terrible offer. Compher is a great offer alone but what your asking from the Sharks is very unrealistic (I AM NOT SAYING THE SHARKS ARE GONNA GET A FIRST + SPECs, that boat sailed a while ago).

You could definitely ask for retention realistically but that would increase our return as I think he’d be had cheap given the current climate (if he’s proven innocent). With retention you’re increasing the return whereas I’d bet the Sharks would do Kane for Compher 1 for 1 if that was all that’s out there.

Kane (with innocence): could be had for dirt cheap I would assume seeing as you’ll never get a better deal for top 6 player with Kane’s performance abilities (as obviously his baggage reduces his price drastically).

Forget the gambling. The other stuff that came out makes this a no go, and I don't care how good of a deal it is. Combine Kane's antics with the Zadorov comments about MacKinnon and you're basically trying to mix oil and water.

If he is innocent half the things you said are gone (bankruptcy has been known for OVER a year and in the process of resolving/ working towards a fix both in court and with the Sharks/ NHL) (divorce happens to literally every other guy, additionally if it proves his wife’s lying doesn’t that mean Kane isn’t as bad as he’s made to be right now?) (innocence means he’s NOT gambling on his own games or NHL games)

The Sharks wanted to move on from Kane at the season end (it’s also been known for months). I highly suggest that Wilson was selling Kane at a deserving price (probably a first, and some prospects/ roster) for a above average top 6 winger with power style.

Obviously a fit wasn’t found and a price wasn’t met. But to assume that if a racist homophobic found a new contract/ home in Carolina but Kane can’t is hard for me atleast. I can then assume if the Sharks truly need Kane moved they would take the best offer. And that I would assume would be a 1 for 1 like Compher for financials for the other team. Or a pick/ spec of little quality value.

Kane is a bona fide top 6 winger with a play style like Wilson yet better talent wise and he’s got a fair cap hit with not ridiculous term.

I don’t think you’re wrong for thinking it’ll be hard to find the home, but to assume NO SINGLE TEAM, would pay a cheap return for a player like Kane (who’s obviously gonna be sold for dirt cheap) is pretty he’s to believe. Caps tight, assets are tight - buying a cheap top 6 winger who’s scored at .80 ppg across 4 years seems like a safe assumption at least for me (don’t take this long comment as anger lol, I laughed when I saw it got this long lmfao).
