New York Rangers TDD

Created by: Razzaram
Team: 2016-17 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 23, 2017
Published: Feb. 23, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If it takes a 2nd for Hainsey.......
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Burrows, Alexandre
Additional Details:
I don't view Burrows as a Top 6F. I view him as a Top 9F and the type of player you want in the playoffs. A pest that the Rangers don't have. I view the Rangers as being able to roll 4 lines and lean heavily on the top 3 lines. My favourite line is the Miller/Hayes/Grabner line.
VAN
  1. Fast, Jesper
  2. 2017 4th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
I know he's fast etc...he has 200 games and 20 goals. We will be exposing him in the expansion draft and Buchnevich will slot in the top 9F before he will anyway.
2.
NYR
  1. Streit, Mark
Additional Details:
If Ron Hainsey trade was for a 2nd rounder I think NYR would need to give up a player + 2nd rounder
PHI
  1. Pirri, Brandon
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Pirri, just like Fast is not going to be a Top 9 for this NYR team. The fourth line of Vesey/Lindberg/Buchnevich provides youth and Vesey/Buchnevich can be put in the Top 9 if any injury happen.

Look at the cap space, unless some way DG goes on LTIR or something occurs, it's too much to be over. I also REALLY don't think Alex Burrows does anything positive for this team. There's better UFA forwards out there cheaper also such as Radim Vrbata...

I do agree that moving Fast wouldn't be a horrible idea. I really am against AV scratching Buch, since I truly don't think he belongs outside the top 9. Nash imo also needs to go before he loses all trade value and his cap hit is massive especially when trying to re-sign players. If Gorts feels a top RHD is all this team needs for a run, then keep it in tact with 1 RHD and a minor rental forward upgrade like Burrows, Vrbata, etc.

Yeah didn't look at the cap number BUT I notice that this site has NYR having 10.1M in deadline space........I hear you on Burrows and Vrbada might be cheaper to get anyway. I want NYR to make moves BUT not shake the core up for sure. This summer on the other hand, see if Nash can go, expose Stepan to Vegas but they will probably take Klein, Fast or Pirri I suppose.

I'm OK with Buch being on an energy 4th line as NYR truly has built a team with no 80 point guy just 4 lines deep.....Next year Buch needs to step up and get inserted in the top 9 for sure though. This summer for Nash, I was thinking maybe STL if they hadn't signed Berglund so not sure where now BUT 1 year left on his deal at 7.8M hit someone might want to take a chance on him.
