This is one of the few reasonable Reinhart offers I’ve seen for both teams. LA doesn’t want to part with Turcotte, but they might if this is the offer. Adding Thomas is a tough pill to swallow but I think it can be justified with the depth they have.

Carolina rejects. Ned isn’t available unless there’s a big overpay. Can do Foegele for a 2nd. No interest in Risto.

Yeah, there is zero chance wild are doing this
    1) Take out Marcus foligno: He's not available, and too important to wild not only as a player, but leader. He's beloved by wild coaches, and GM bill Guerin. So he's not available to get traded

You'd give up Turcotte for possibly 1 year of Reinhart.

That’s true. I stand corrected. The extension would have to be part of the deal.

The max quality I'd give up for Reinhart is Vilardi. Buffalo is desperate to move him before he becomes a UFA.

Villardi’s stock is lower than it should be. His ceiling is higher than Turcotte’s if he rebounds. I don’t like the idea of trading him this season when his full NHL experience doesn’t even equal a full season. I think that undercuts the development and evaluation process. I’m probably going to have this opinion of Byfield, Turcotte, and Kaliyev next year when they start struggling in competing against NHL players.

Wow you think Vilardi has a higher ceiling than Turcotte? That's surprising I definitely like Turcotte better but I guess you probably see them play more than me.

Not by much. That might change after this year. My argument is that it’s more like NY giving up on and trading Lafreniere when he opened about the first 15 games without a goal. Villardi sees things on the ice in a way that not many other prospects do. He’s a huge unknown at this point. Turcotte might pass him, but Villardi’s ceiling is worth another year before trading him. That said, he will have a lot of influence over whether we make the playoffs next year. I’m not convinced he’s ready to be 2C yet and might need another year or he might need to move to RW.

The reason we are moving him is he wants to play out west so a extension would not be difficult

Buffalo is not desperate to move him, people are calling the Sabres. Sabres were not shopping him.

There are 3 players I can remember who didn’t extend after we paid full price for 1 year of service and just recently: Ben Bishop, Andre Sekera, and Milan Lucic. It was a disaster and they cost Lombardi his job. I believe and hope Blake has learned. No we don’t want to pay for a 1 year rental. An Extension must come first for this trade to happen with LA.

The dude said he wants out and is in the last year of team control. If they aren't trying their hardest to maximize a return on him they aren't doing their job.
